Meet Our Team – The People Behind Champions Peru Travel
We are a Peruvian-owned and operated tour company based in Cusco, with strong ties to the Andes. Our local team offers firsthand knowledge of the region’s land, culture and traditions. By making decisions locally, we ensure tourism benefits Andean communities through fair employment, responsible practices and lasting partnerships.
Our commitment extends beyond travel. We protect the Andes’ natural and cultural heritage by offering small-group tours, supporting local suppliers and participating in conservation and community initiatives. Traveling with us supports a tourism model based on respect, sustainability, and authentic cultural exchange.
At Champions Peru Travel, our tours succeed because of the dedicated people behind them. We are a team of passionate individuals who care deeply about Peru, our guests, and each other. Every team member brings experience and commitment to ensure your journey is smooth, safe, and memorable.
Office Team – The Heart of Our Operations
Our office team is the starting point for every adventure. Ronaldo, Maria and Erika are our email support staff, are recognized for their patience, kindness and attention to detail. They listen carefully, understand each traveler’s needs, answer questions clearly, and provide honest guidance from initial contact through the end of your trip.
They excel in organization, communication and problem-solving. Whether adjusting itineraries, coordinating last-minute changes, or reassuring travelers before arrival, the office team works diligently behind the scenes. Their warm approach and round-the-clock availability ensure every guest feels supported, informed, and confident throughout their journey.
Drivers: Safety, Responsibility and Local Knowledge
Our drivers: Elvis, Juan and David are calm, responsible and highly experienced professionals. Driving in the Andes demands not only technical skill but also patience, awareness and respect for the mountains. They are recognized for their safe driving, punctuality, and friendly attitude.
They take pride in their work and often assist beyond transportation by helping with luggage, sharing local insights, and ensuring comfort during scenic drives. Their extensive knowledge of regional routes allows travelers to relax and enjoy the landscape with confidence.
Tour Guides – Storytellers and Cultural Ambassadors
Our guides: Wilson, Victor, Edy, and Simon represent the spirit of Peru. Each brings a unique personality, yet all share professionalism, passion and genuine care for travelers. Many are Quechua speakers, born and raised in the Andes, who learned local traditions, history and spirituality from their families.
They are patient teachers, engaging storytellers and attentive leaders who adapt to various travel styles and group dynamics. Whether explaining Inca engineering, sharing mountain legends, or offering encouragement on a hike, they foster a welcoming and educational environment where travelers feel connected, inspired and safe.
Trekking Chefs – Creativity at High Altitude
Our trekking chefs: Juan, Miguel, Ramon and Percy are recognized for their creativity, dedication and positive energy. Cooking in remote, high-altitude locations is challenging, yet they approach it with enthusiasm and pride. Their fresh, flavorful and nutritious meals often become a highlight of the trek.
They are attentive to dietary needs, hygiene and presentation, always serving meals with a smile. Beyond their culinary skills, they foster a warm atmosphere at camp, helping travelers recharge and feel cared for after a long day on the trail.
Head Porters – Strength, Leadership and Team Spirit
Our head porters: Edilfonso, Marcio, Marco and Ruben are respected leaders within our trekking team. With years of trail experience, they are responsible, disciplined, and highly organized. They coordinate logistics, support the porter team, and ensure camps are set up efficiently and safely.
Beyond their physical strength, they are valued for teamwork, humility, and reliability. At Champions Peru Travel, we are proud to work with them under fair conditions, providing proper equipment, meals and respect. Their commitment allows travelers to enjoy the journey comfortably while honoring those who make it possible.
CEO & Founder
Ronaldo, CEO and co-founder of Champions Peru Travel, leads with responsibility, integrity and pride in his Andean heritage. Raised in a Quechua-speaking village in the Sacred Valley, he developed a strong connection to the land, local traditions and the values of hard work and family. Early on, he assisted his parents with farming, learning discipline, teamwork and respect for nature. These principles continue to guide his leadership.
Motivated to create a better future, Ronaldo moved to Cusco after secondary school to pursue higher education. He studied Tourism Business Management at the National University of Cusco, combining academic learning with practical experience. While studying, he worked as a porter on the Inca Trail, gaining firsthand knowledge of trekking logistics, group coordination and the challenges faced by field staff. This experience helped him identify areas for improvement in traditional tour operations, especially regarding staff treatment and service consistency.
As CEO, Ronaldo is recognized for his hands-on leadership and strong relationships with guests and team members. He is committed to small-group tours, fair working conditions and exceptional customer experiences. His vision is to create a company where travelers feel valued, staff are respected and local communities benefit from tourism. Under his leadership, Champions Peru Travel continues to grow, grounded in ethics, professionalism and a passion for Peru.
