Machu Picchu Full Day Tour – Itinerary
Your adventure begins bright and early with a 4:00 AM pickup from your hotel in Cusco by our private driver. Sit back and relax as we travel through the quiet Sacred Valley to Ollantaytambo, where you’ll catch your train to Machu Picchu. The panoramic train ride to Aguas Calientes offers breathtaking views of the Urubamba River, lush valleys, and snowcapped peaks, an unforgettable journey into the cloud forest.
Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, your professional guide will be waiting to greet you. You’ll have a short break to enjoy breakfast at a local café (not included), before boarding the shuttle bus to Machu Picchu. This 25-minute ride climbs a winding mountain road with stunning jungle views. Once at the entrance, you’ll present your passport and entry ticket, and step into one of the world’s most awe-inspiring archaeological sites: Machu Picchu.
To ensure the best experience, we highly recommend booking 4–5 months in advance to secure Circuit #2, which offers the most complete and panoramic route through the citadel. Your guided tour (approx. 2.5 hours) will lead you through temples, terraces, ceremonial centers, and residential areas, uncovering the incredible engineering and spiritual depth of the Inca civilization. You'll have time to pause for photos at classic viewpoints, like the Guardian House and Main Plaza.
After the tour, descend back to Aguas Calientes, where you'll have free time for lunch at a restaurant of your choice (or we can offer suggestions). Then, at 2:55 PM, board the Expeditions Tourist Train for your return to Ollantaytambo. Enjoy onboard music, traditional dances, and panoramic views during the ride. At the station, your driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel in Cusco, arriving around 7:30 PM, completing a truly magical day.
