Day 01: Welcome to Lima - Peru

Welcome to Lima. Upon arrival at Lima International Airport, our representative will meet you at the international exit gate with a sign displaying your name. You will be transferred directly to your hotel in Miraflores to relax after your flight. No tours are scheduled for this afternoon, so you may settle in or explore the area at your leisure. 

Please confirm your airline, flight number and estimated arrival time so we can arrange your airport pickup.

Day 02: Lima City Tour & Magic Water

At around 2:00 pm, your guide will pick you up and drive to the downtown area of the capital, where you will see the Palacio del Gobierno (Presidential Palace), Main Plaza, and several notable colonial buildings. We will visit the Main Plaza of Lima, surrounded by impressive buildings, palaces, and the Palacio de Gobierno, the official residence of the President of Peru. After your guide provides an overview and time for photos, you will continue to the renowned Saint Francisco Monastery and its underground catacombs. Other notable sites include the De la Union Pathway, the Archbishop’s Palace, City Hall, the Cathedral, and San Martin Square, which often serves as a gathering place for public events and demonstrations. The historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its well-preserved colonial architecture. Lima, founded by the Spanish in 1535, is one of the oldest capital cities in South America and is known as the City of Kings. You will have the opportunity to appreciate each site’s unique features. After the Lima City Tour, you will continue to the Magic Water Circuit at Parque de la Reserva. Day 03. Flight to Cusco & Free Day for Acclimatization
Our driver will pick you up from your hotel about three hours before your flight and take you to Lima Airport for your journey to Cusco. When you arrive, our local representative will greet you and take you to your hotel in the historic downtown. The rest of the day is yours to rest and get used to the altitude. You can relax at the hotel or take a gentle walk around Cusco’s Main Square to see the colonial buildings, Inca stonework, and lively city atmosphere. This easy start to your time in Cusco will help you settle in and enjoy your stay.

Day 04: Sacred Valley Tour - Sacsayhuaman - Pisac - Ollantaytambo.

Your tour begins at 8:00 a.m. with a hotel pick-up in Cusco and private transportation to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The first stop is Sacsayhuamán, a renowned Inca archaeological complex known for its massive stone walls. This ceremonial and military site offers insight into Inca engineering, astronomy, and religious practices. From here, enjoy panoramic views of Cusco as your guide explains the site's historical significance during Inca festivals and defensive events. You’ll embark on a journey through the heart of the Andes along the original Inca Trail, once used by Inca rulers and their entourages to reach Machu Picchu. The day’s hike covers about 14 kilometers and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. The terrain is mostly gradual, helping you acclimate to the altitude as you walk. Along the trail, you’ll encounter Inca archaeological sites and your guide will share their historical and cultural significance. Lunch will be served at the halfway point to give you energy for the rest of the trek. By around 4:30 pm, you’ll arrive at the designated campsite and set up for the night. This first day on the Inca Trail is both exhilarating and educational, giving you a taste of the beauty and history ahead on your journey to Machu Picchu.

Day 08: Inca Trail – The Most Scenic and Inspiring Day

Day three is widely regarded as the most beautiful and rewarding of the Classic Inca Trail. As you approach Machu Picchu, the landscape becomes more dramatic and anticipation grows. This is the longest day, with a full day of exploration through diverse ecosystems, ancient stone pathways, and notable archaeological sites. The trail passes through lush cloud forest, where orchids, hummingbirds and dense vegetation create a unique atmosphere.

Along the way, you will see impressive views of the Andes and distant peaks, including the sacred Apu Salkantay, revered by the Incas. You will visit Phuyupatamarca, or “Town in the Clouds,” known for its ceremonial fountains, carved terraces, and panoramic viewpoints above the Urubamba Valley. The journey continues to Intipata, an agricultural complex with wide terraces that offer insight into Inca engineering and farming.

In the afternoon, you will reach the Wiñay Wayna campsite, near one of the trail’s most iconic archaeological sites. The Wiñay Wayna Inca site, known for its preserved terraces, temples and water channels, is a highlight of the trail and offers insight into the Incas’ connection to nature and spirituality. In the evening, you will share a final dinner with your trekking team, a time to thank your porters and crew before resting for the final day and your arrival at Machu Picchu.

Day 09: Machu Picchu Guided Tour  & Return to Cusco

Today marks the highlight of your Inca Trail journey. After an early start, you will complete the final stretch of the trail as morning light reveals the Andean mountains and cloud forest. The route leads to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you will have your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. This viewpoint signifies the completion of your trek.

From the Sun Gate, you will descend to the citadel entrance and begin a guided tour of Machu Picchu on Circuit Nº 3, the official route for Inca Trail hikers. With your local guide, you will explore the lower section of the citadel, visiting ceremonial and residential areas such as agricultural terraces, water fountains, sacred temples and stone pathways. Your guide will explain Inca engineering, religious beliefs, and the historical significance of Machu Picchu as a royal and spiritual center.

After the guided tour, you will take a shuttle bus from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes. You will have time to walk around the village and have lunch, then board the train for your return through the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival, private transportation will take you back to Cusco, concluding your journey.

Day 10: Hike Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley

Your guide will pick you up from your hotel at 4:30 am for a three-hour drive to the trailhead, with a stop for a substantial breakfast. At the 4,350-meter trailhead, we will prepare for the hike. Due to the high altitude and cold, dry climate, please dress warmly. The 4-kilometer trek to the summit of Rainbow Mountain (Winikunqa) takes about 2.5 hours and reaches 5,150 meters. At the summit, you will have time to enjoy the scenery and take photographs. The vibrant colors of Rainbow Mountain provide a unique visual experience. We will then continue to the Red Valley, where you can take in panoramic views of the red landscape. After exploring both sites, we will return along the same path to meet our driver. A scenic 50-minute drive will take us to a restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we will return to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel at approximately 5:30 pm. This day offers exceptional natural scenery and memorable experiences.

Day 11: Journey Cusco to Puno (Sun Route)

This full-day journey from Cusco to Puno follows the Sun Route, offering a chance to experience Peru’s cultural heritage and scenic landscapes. The day starts with a 6:20 AM pick-up and transfer to the bus station. The route includes stops at Andahuaylillas Church, known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Andes,” the Raqchi archaeological site, and the La Raya Pass at 4,335 meters, which provides panoramic views of the Andes. You will also visit the Pukara Lithic Museum to see pre-Inca artifacts. Arrival in Puno is scheduled for 5:30 PM, with hotel drop-off to end the day.

Lake Titicaca, on the border of Peru and Bolivia in the Andean Highlands, is one of South America’s largest lakes and the world’s highest navigable body of water. It is known for its deep blue waters and the floating Uros Islands, made from reeds. This tour explores the lake’s unique islands and offers opportunities to engage with the indigenous communities who live there. Uros Islands: Visit the floating islands made entirely of totora reeds. Learn about the Uros people, their traditions, and how they build and maintain their islands.
