From Porter to Pioneer: The Story of Champions Peru Travel!

Ronaldo, a seasoned professional with deep roots in the Andes, established Champions Peru Travel. Ronaldo was born in 1988 in a small village in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where he was raised in a setting characterized by stunning mountain vistas, time-honored traditions, and the proud heritage of his ancestors. From an early age, he developed a profound connection to the trails, history, and people of his homeland.

At the age of 18, Ronaldo began working as a porter on the renowned Inca Trail. For nearly five years, he transported travelers' equipment along the steep mountain trails, facing the same physical challenges as his fellow porters. During this time, he gained a deep understanding of the trail's beauty and its difficulties, and he witnessed areas where the trekking experience, for both visitors and staff,  could be improved. This practical experience provided him with invaluable insights into teamwork, safety, sustainability, and the significance of treating all members of the trekking team with dignity and respect.

Ronaldo's commitment to professional development led him to pursue higher education at the National University of Cusco, where he specialized in tourism and cultural heritage. Following his graduation, he pursued a career as a professional guide, working with several of Peru's most respected tour operators. His extensive experience working on the trail and in guiding roles provided him with the opportunity to share Peru's history and culture with travelers from around the world. This experience further solidified his aspiration to establish his own company, aiming to establish a new standard for quality, authenticity, and responsible tourism.

The establishment of Champions Peru Travel materialized the realization of that aspiration. From the outset, Ronaldo's mission has been clear: to offer unique, authentic adventures to Machu Picchu and beyond, combining world-class service, small group experiences, and a deep respect for local communities and the environment. Today, Champions Peru Travel is proud to be recognized as one of Peru's leading Inca Trail specialists, providing unforgettable journeys that leave travelers with lasting memories and a genuine connection to the spirit of the Andes.
