Founded in 2022 by Ronaldo and his business partner, Champions Peru Travel aims to create ethical, immersive travel experiences rooted in the Andean world. Based in Cusco, we are a locally owned tour operator dedicated to responsible tourism, cultural authenticity and exceptional service across the region.
Ronaldo grew up in a small Sacred Valley village where Quechua is the primary language and Andean traditions are preserved. From an early age, he helped his parents farm, learning hard work, responsibility and respect for the land. These experiences shaped his character and inspired his commitment to family leadership and community contribution.
After secondary school, Ronaldo moved to Cusco to pursue his professional goals. He studied Tourism Business Management at the National University of Cusco, combining academic learning with practical experience. While at university, he worked as a porter on the Inca Trail, gaining insight into trekking operations, group coordination and the challenges field staff face. This experience highlighted both the strengths and shortcomings of traditional tour models, especially in staff treatment and working conditions.
These experiences inspired the foundation of Champions Peru Travel. We started the company to address these gaps by improving logistics, enhancing guest care, and ensuring fair, respectful treatment of our guides, porters and staff. Every tour reflects these values, combining professional organization, local expertise and genuine care for both travelers and our team.
Today, Champions Peru Travel offers high-quality journeys to iconic destinations including the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley and Rainbow Mountain. We remain committed to integrity, community respect and delivering outstanding customer experiences while supporting the people and landscapes that make Peru unique.
