Day 1: Welcome to Cusco & Half-Day City Tour

Your unforgettable journey through the Andes begins with your arrival in Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. Our team will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. After some rest and acclimatization to the high altitude (3,400m / 11,150ft), your adventure kicks off with a guided Cusco city tour starting at 1:00 PM.
Explore the most iconic sites in and around the city, including the Qoricancha (Temple of the Sun), the Cusco Cathedral, and the spectacular Inca ruins of Sacsayhuamán, known for its massive stone walls. You’ll also visit Q’enqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay, learning about Inca architecture, astronomy, and ritual practices.

Day 2: Sacred Valley Tour – Train to Aguas Calientes

After breakfast, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at 8:00 AM and begin our journey into the lush and historically rich Sacred Valley of the Incas. Our first stop is a traditional Alpaca and llama farm, where you’ll have the chance to get up close with South American camelids and learn about the different species, their cultural importance, and how their wool is used in local textiles.

We then continue to the impressive Pisac Archaeological Site, perched on the mountainside with sweeping views of the valley below. Here, you’ll explore extensive Inca agricultural terraces and ceremonial structures, while your guide explains how agriculture shaped the Inca economy, society, and religion—knowledge that still resonates in Andean communities today.

Next, we descend to the Pisac Market, where you’ll have time to browse colorful stalls full of handcrafted goods, textiles, and souvenirs. Afterward, we travel deeper into the valley to Urubamba, where a delicious buffet lunch featuring local cuisine awaits.

Our final archaeological visit is to Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved Inca fortresses and a living town with remarkable urban planning. Walk among ancient temples and giant terraces that tell stories of both Inca ingenuity and resistance against Spanish conquest.

In the late afternoon, we board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo), where you’ll spend the night in preparation for your visit to Machu Picchu the next day.

Day 3: Discover Machu Picchu – Guided Tour & Optional Huayna Picchu Hike

Today is the highlight of your journey, a once-in-a-lifetime visit to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. After an early breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes, we’ll board one of the first shuttle buses up the mountain to ensure you experience the citadel in the peaceful morning light, before the crowds arrive.

Upon arrival at the entrance, we’ll complete the check-in process, where you must present your passport and Machu Picchu entrance ticket. We then ascend to the upper terraces of the citadel, the ideal spot for those iconic panoramic photos of Machu Picchu nestled among the cloud-kissed Andean peaks.

👉 We highly recommend booking this tour at least 4 months in advance to secure tickets for Circuit 2, the most popular route that offers the most complete and scenic experience of the site.

Your 2.5-hour guided tour will take you through the most important and fascinating sectors of Machu Picchu, including the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, main plaza, and the Royal Quarters. Learn about the spiritual and architectural genius of the Inca civilization as you walk in their footsteps.

For adventurous travelers, there is the optional hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain (must be requested at booking). This steep but rewarding trek takes approximately 2 hours round-trip, offering a dramatic bird’s-eye view over the entire citadel. Please note that this hike is not recommended for travelers with vertigo or fear of heights, as the path includes narrow and exposed sections. The best time to hike Huayna Picchu is between May and October, when the weather is dry and visibility is at its best.

After your visit, descend back to Aguas Calientes to enjoy lunch (on your own), then take the train and private transfer back to Cusco, arriving in the evening.

Day 4: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Hike – A Natural Wonder of the Andes

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure to one of Peru’s most surreal landscapes, Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) and the lesser-known but equally stunning Red Valley. Your day begins early, with pickup from your hotel in Cusco around 4:30 AM for a scenic drive through the remote Andean countryside. Along the way, you’ll pass traditional villages, herds of alpacas, and breathtaking mountain views.

After approximately 3 hours, we arrive at the trailhead (around 4,600 meters / 15,100 feet). Enjoy a light breakfast before beginning your moderate 1.5- to 2-hour hike to the summit of Rainbow Mountain, sitting at 5,200 meters (17,060 feet) above sea level. As you climb, the landscape transforms into a palette of natural colors, thanks to mineral-rich sedimentary layers that give the mountain its famous stripes of red, yellow, turquoise, and gold.

At the summit, take time to soak the panoramic views of the Andes, including the sacred Ausangate Glacier, and snap unforgettable photos. Your guide will explain the geological history and cultural significance of this sacred mountain to the local Quechua people.

After enjoying Rainbow Mountain, we take an alternative route through the spectacular Red Valley, a quieter and less-traveled path surrounded by crimson-hued mountains and rolling, high-altitude plains. This peaceful trail offers equally stunning views—and is often a favorite for photographers and those looking to escape the crowds.

We then descend to the starting point and enjoy a well-earned lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Cusco in the late afternoon (around 5:30–6:00 PM).
