Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes

We begin your adventure with an 8:00 AM pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. Our first stop is a charming Alpaca farm, where you’ll meet South America's unique camelids—llamas, alpacas, vicuñas, and guanacos—and learn about their importance to Andean culture. Then, we visit a traditional weaving center, where local artisans will show you the fascinating process of creating textiles using natural dyes and ancient techniques.

Next, we head to the Pisac Inca site, a stunning archaeological complex known for its agricultural terraces and sacred temples. Here, you'll gain insight into ancient Inca farming methods and their relevance today. Afterward, we stop at the Pisac market, where you can browse colorful stalls filled with handicrafts, textiles, and souvenirs—perfect if you’d like to take home a piece of Peru. We continue through the beautiful Sacred Valley to Urubamba, where we’ll enjoy a delicious local lunch.

Our final stop is Ollantaytambo, an impressive Inca fortress and living Inca town. After exploring its massive terraces and temples, we board the afternoon train to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel and rest up for the next day's big adventure.

Machu Picchu Guided tour and back to Cusco.

Today is the highlight of your journey, a once-in-a-lifetime visit to Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. After an early breakfast at your hotel in Aguas Calientes, we’ll board one of the first shuttle buses up the mountain to ensure you experience the citadel in the peaceful morning light, before the crowds arrive.

Upon arrival at the entrance, we’ll complete the check-in process, where you must present your passport and Machu Picchu entrance ticket. We then ascend to the upper terraces of the citadel, the ideal spot for those iconic panoramic photos of Machu Picchu nestled among the cloud-kissed Andean peaks.

👉 We highly recommend booking this tour at least 4 months in advance to secure tickets for Circuit 2, the most popular route that offers the most complete and scenic experience of the site.

Your 2.5-hour guided tour will take you through the most important and fascinating sectors of Machu Picchu, including the Temple of the Sun, the Sacred Plaza, main plaza, and the Royal Quarters. Learn about the spiritual and architectural genius of the Inca civilization as you walk in their footsteps.

For adventurous travelers, there is the optional hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain (must be requested at booking). This steep but rewarding trek takes approximately 2 hours round-trip, offering a dramatic bird’s-eye view over the entire citadel. Please note that this hike is not recommended for travelers with vertigo or fear of heights, as the path includes narrow and exposed sections. The best time to hike Huayna Picchu is between May and October, when the weather is dry and visibility is at its best.

After your visit, descend back to Aguas Calientes to enjoy lunch (on your own), then take the train and private transfer back to Cusco, arriving in the evening.
