Day 02: Flight to Puerto Maldonado.
River journey to Tambopata Ecolodge.

Upon arrival in Puerto Maldonado, our staff will meet you and escort you on a 68-kilometer journey to Tambopata Ecolodge, traveling 23 kilometers by vehicle and 45 kilometers by boat along the Tambopata River. As we leave the town, the landscape transitions from deforested areas to pristine rainforest. River travel offers excellent opportunities to observe native flora and Amazonian wildlife, guided by our experienced naturalists. A box lunch will be served on the boat. After settling into your accommodation, your guide will lead a walk along forest trails, where you may see giant Brazil nut trees, brown capuchin monkeys, agoutis, blue morpho butterflies, trogons, toucans and other bird species. Day 03: Forest trails and wetlands
After a buffet breakfast and a short morning boat ride, we will walk a forest trail and explore Condenado oxbow lake by canoe. The wetlands, rich in tropical vegetation, offer excellent opportunities for birdwatching and observing a variety of aquatic and terrestrial wildlife. Along the trail, you will see tree species such as the strangler fig and the towering kapok. After returning to the Ecolodge for lunch, you will have free time to walk our trails, explore the gardens, swim in the Gallocunca stream, or relax in a hammock on your cabin porch. After dinner, your guide will present information on the caiman species of Tambopata, followed by a night river excursion to observe caimans and other nocturnal rainforest wildlife.

Day 04: Deeper into the forest
Today, we will travel deeper into the forest to explore the wetland ecosystem surrounding Lake Sachavacayoc. After a brief boat ride downriver, we will reach the lake via a forest trail that includes raised walkways and bridges over streams and marshes. Along the way, you may see capirona, strangler fig, palo santo, bamboo and several palm species. The forests around this oxbow lake are rich in birdlife, while the waters are home to black caiman and green anaconda. With luck, you may also spot the rare Amazon giant river otter. We will paddle across the lake for about an hour, then return to the river by a different trail as our naturalist guide searches for wildlife. Capuchin and squirrel monkeys are often seen here. In the late afternoon, you can relax in a hammock or swim in the nearby Gallocunca stream. After a buffet-style dinner, enjoy the evening socializing with other guests in the bar and lounge.

Day 05: Morning river journey and flight to Cusco
Your stay in the Amazon forest ends on this fourth day with a magical morning return by river for your flight from Puerto Maldonado to Cusco. This is an excellent time for wildlife observation as the forest awakens. Looking out for rainforest fauna from our boat with your naturalist guide is a perfect way to bid farewell to Peru’s tropical forests. IMPORTANT: Please confirm your flight departure details (airline, flight number, estimated arrival time) so our team can arrange your airport drop-off. Your flight from Puerto Maldonado to Cusco should be in the afternoon, after 13:00 hrs. Upon arrival in Cusco, we will welcome you at the Cusco airport and take you straight to your hotel. No tours are arranged for this afternoon.

Day 06. Afternoon Cusco City Tour.
At 1:00 p.m., the tour continues with visits to Cusco’s key landmarks. Visit the Cusco Cathedral, known for its colonial artwork and religious treasures that reflect the blend of Spanish and Inca cultures. Then, see Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun, once covered in gold and considered the most sacred Inca site. In the afternoon, travel by private transportation to the surrounding Inca ruins. Sacsayhuamán features massive stone walls and panoramic city views, demonstrating Inca engineering. Qenqo is a ceremonial site believed to have been used for rituals and astronomical observations. Puca Pucara served as a military and administrative complex, while Tambomachay, the Temple of Water, highlights Inca hydraulic engineering. After visiting each site, you will return to Cusco around 5:30 p.m.

Day 07: Sacred Valley Tour - ( Pisac - Salt Mines - Ollantaytambo)
Your Sacred Valley tour begins with an early hotel pickup at 7:30 a.m. from Cusco as you travel through the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas. Surrounded by dramatic Andean landscapes and fertile farmland, this valley played a vital role in Inca agriculture and spirituality. Your first stop is a traditional alpaca and llama farm, where you’ll learn about llamas, alpacas and vicuñas often called the South American camels. Here, you’ll discover the importance of these animals in Andean culture and daily life.
Next, visit a local weaving center, where skilled artisans demonstrate ancient textile techniques passed down through generations. You’ll see how natural fibers and dyes are transformed into colorful, handwoven clothing and textiles. The journey continues to the impressive Pisac Inca archaeological site, famous for its agricultural terraces, ceremonial areas and panoramic valley views. After exploring the ruins, you’ll visit the Pisac local market, a vibrant place to experience traditional crafts and local culture. Traveling along the Urubamba River, you’ll have lunch at a local restaurant before heading to the Maras Salt Mines, where thousands of salt pools have been used since Inca times. Day 08: Hike the Classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.
Today marks the start of your Inca Trail adventure. You’ll journey through the heart of the Andes along the original Inca Trail, once used by Inca rulers and their entourages to reach Machu Picchu. The hike covers about 14 kilometers and offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes. The mostly gradual terrain helps you acclimate to the altitude as you walk.
Along the trail, you’ll encounter Inca archaeological sites, and your guide will share their historical and cultural significance. Lunch is served at the halfway point to give you energy for the rest of the trek. By around 4:30 pm, you’ll arrive at the designated campsite and set up for the night. This first day on the Inca Trail is both exhilarating and educational, giving you a taste of the beauty and history ahead on your journey to Machu Picchu.

Day 09: Classic Inca Trail – Dead Woman’s Pass
Day two is the most demanding and rewarding stage of the Classic Inca Trail, as you continue deeper into the Andes and face the trail’s greatest challenge. Today’s hike takes you to Warmiwañusca Pass (Dead Woman’s Pass), the highest point of the trek at 4,215 meters (13,828 ft) above sea level. The ascent is gradual but persistent, requiring steady pacing, determination, and focus as the landscape shifts from lush valleys to high-altitude alpine terrain. As you climb, you are surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, ancient stone staircases, and panoramic views that stretch across remote Andean peaks and cloud forests below.
Reaching the summit of Dead Woman’s Pass is a powerful moment, rewarding your effort with sweeping vistas and a deep sense of achievement. After time to rest, take photos, and absorb the energy of this sacred mountain pass, you begin a descent into the Pacaymayu Valley. The day ends surrounded by peaceful nature. This challenging yet unforgettable day defines the true spirit of the Inca Trail and remains a highlight for trekkers from around the world.

Day 10: Inca Trail – The Most Scenic and Inspiring Day
Day three is widely regarded as the most beautiful and rewarding of the Classic Inca Trail. As you approach Machu Picchu, the landscape becomes more dramatic and anticipation grows. This is the longest day, with exploration through diverse ecosystems, ancient stone pathways, and notable archaeological sites. The trail passes through lush cloud forest, where orchids, hummingbirds, and dense vegetation create a unique atmosphere. Along the way, you see impressive views of the Andes and distant peaks, including the sacred Apu Salkantay, revered by the Incas. You visit Phuyupatamarca, or “Town in the Clouds,” known for its ceremonial fountains, carved terraces, and panoramic viewpoints above the Urubamba Valley.
The journey continues to Intipata, an agricultural complex with wide terraces that show Inca engineering and farming. In the afternoon, you reach the Wiñay Wayna campsite, near one of the trail’s most iconic archaeological sites. The Wiñay Wayna Inca site, known for its preserved terraces, temples, and water channels, is a highlight of the trail and shows the Incas’ connection to nature and spirituality. In the evening, you share a final dinner with your trekking team, a time to thank your porters and crew before resting for the final day and your arrival at Machu Picchu.

Day 11: Machu Picchu Guided Tour & Return to Cusco
Today is the highlight of your Inca Trail journey. After an early start, you will complete the final stretch of the trail as the morning light reveals the Andean mountains and cloud forest. The route leads to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku), where you will enjoy your first panoramic view of Machu Picchu. From the Sun Gate, you will descend to the citadel entrance and begin a guided tour of Machu Picchu on Circuit Nº 3, the official route for Inca Trail hikers. With your local guide, you will explore the lower section of the citadel, including agricultural terraces, water fountains, sacred temples, and stone pathways. Your guide will explain Inca engineering, religious beliefs, and the historical significance of Machu Picchu. After the tour, you will take a shuttle bus to Aguas Calientes. You will have time to explore the village and have lunch before boarding the train through the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival, private transportation will return you to Cusco, concluding your journey.

Day 12: Hike Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel at 4:30 am for a three-hour drive to the trailhead, with a stop for a substantial breakfast. At the 4,350-meter trailhead, we will prepare for the hike. Due to the high altitude and cold, dry climate, please dress warmly. The 4-kilometer trek to the summit of Rainbow Mountain (Winikunqa) takes about 2.5 hours and reaches 5,150 meters. At the summit, you will have time to enjoy the scenery and take photographs. The vibrant colors of Rainbow Mountain provide a unique visual experience. We will then continue to the Red Valley, where you can take in panoramic views of the red landscape. After exploring both sites, we will return along the same path to meet our driver. A scenic 50-minute drive will take us to a restaurant for lunch. After lunch, we will return to Cusco and drop you off at your hotel at approximately 5:30 pm. This day offers exceptional natural scenery and memorable experiences.

About 2 hours and 20 minutes before your flight, our driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to the airport. After saying goodbye, you will board your flight to Lima, Peru’s vibrant capital.
Upon arrival in Lima, our local representative will welcome you and escort you to your hotel. Sit back and relax as you are transferred to your accommodation, where you can unwind and prepare for the next stage of your journey.

Day 14: Full-Day Ballestas Islands & Huacachina Sandboarding Tour
The tour begins with a 5:00 a.m. hotel pick-up in Lima, followed by a drive south along the Pan-American Highway to Paracas. Along the way, you will see the landscape shift from city to desert and ocean. Upon arrival, you will go to the pier to board a motorized boat for a guided excursion to the Ballestas Islands, known as the “Galápagos of Peru.” During the boat tour, you will observe marine wildlife, including sea lions, Humboldt penguins, pelicans, cormorants, and other seabirds.
The tour also features the Paracas Candelabra, a large geoglyph etched into the desert hillside with debated origins. The excursion lasts 1.5 to 2 hours and offers excellent opportunities for photography and wildlife observation. After the Ballestas Islands tour, you will travel to Huacachina, a desert oasis surrounded by sand dunes. There, you will experience a dune buggy ride and sandboarding for an exciting adventure. You will also have time to relax, explore the oasis, or have lunch at a local restaurant (lunch not included). In the afternoon, you will return to Lima, arriving at your hotel in the evening after a day of adventure, wildlife encounters, and desert landscapes.

Day 15. Lima Culinary Experience & City Tour and Water Magic.
Today, you will explore traditional Peruvian cuisine. At 9:30 am, our guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to a local market, where you will learn about regional ingredients such as vegetables, fruits, grains, and meats. After the market, you will participate in a cooking class featuring dishes like ceviche, lomo saltado, and papa a la huancaína, followed by a meal of your own creations. At approximately 2:00 pm, your city tour of central Lima will begin. Highlights include the Palacio del Gobierno (Presidential Palace), Main Plaza, and several notable colonial buildings.
You will visit the Main Plaza, surrounded by historic sites including the Palacio de Gobierno, the official residence of the President of Peru. After an overview and time for photos, the tour continues to the Saint Francisco Monastery and its underground catacombs. Additional stops include the De la Union Pathway, the Archbishop’s Palace, City Hall, the Cathedral, and San Martin Square, a frequent venue for public events. Lima’s historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for its well-preserved colonial architecture. Founded by the Spanish in 1535, Lima is one of the oldest capitals in South America and is known as the City of Kings. Your guide will highlight each site’s unique features, provide regular photo opportunities and offer detailed explanations. At the end of the tour, you will return to your hotel.
After the Lima City Tour, you will continue to the Magic Water Circuit at Parque de la Reserva. In the evening, the park features illuminated fountains, music, and laser light displays, offering a vibrant contrast to the historic sites visited earlier. You will walk through the fountain complex, enjoy interactive installations, and see the main water-and-light show, one of Lima’s most popular nighttime attractions.
