Are you licensed to operate the Inca Trail?
Yes, that is correct. Champions Peru Travel is a fully licensed Inca Trail tour operator, authorized by the Peruvian Ministry of Culture. This means we can secure permits directly for you, eliminating the need for intermediaries, and guaranteeing your participation in this renowned trek.
Do you operate your own tours or use third parties?
All our treks and tours are operated directly by our team, from guides and chefs to porters and drivers. We do not outsource your adventure, ensuring that you receive the same high-quality service and authentic experience for which we are renowned.
How far in advance should I book the Inca Trail?
We recommend booking at least six to eight months in advance, especially for the Classic 4-Day Inca Trail, as permits are limited and sell out quickly. Short Inca Trail permits (2 days) are more flexible, but we recommend booking well in advance.
Are Inca Trail permits included in the price?
Yes, that is correct. All our Inca Trail and Short Inca Trail tours include the official government permit, Machu Picchu entry ticket, and all required fees, with no hidden costs.
What kind of food is served on the trek?
Our professional chefs prepare fresh, locally sourced, and nutritious meals daily. We are pleased to accommodate a variety of dietary preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other requirements. Kindly inform us of your specific needs during the booking process to ensure we can cater to your preferences.
Do you provide porters and camping equipment?
Absolutely. Our services include the provision of personal porters for carrying equipment, high-quality camping tents, comfortable sleeping mats, and eco-friendly reusable water bottles.
What’s the difference between the Classic Inca Trail and the Short Inca Trail?
Classic Inca Trail (4 days): This challenging, immersive trek offers stunning mountain scenery, Inca ruins, and the unforgettable arrival to Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate.
Short Inca Trail (2 days): This trail is ideal for travelers with limited time or those who prefer a shorter hike but still want the experience of arriving through the Sun Gate.
Do I need to acclimatize before my trek?
Yes. We recommend arriving in Cusco at least 2–3 days before your trek to allow sufficient time to adjust to the altitude. We also offer acclimatization tours, such as the Sacred Valley Tour and the Cusco City Tour, to help prepare.
Is travel insurance required?
All travelers are required to have comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and trekking activities.
Will you use my trip photos for marketing?
Occasionally, our guides and photographers may take photographs during your tour. By proceeding with a booking, you consent to our use of these images for marketing purposes on our website and social media, with full consideration for your privacy.
Do you offer private and custom tours?
Yes, that is correct. We specialize in creating customized itineraries for couples, families, and groups seeking a personalized adventure. Private tours can be adapted to your pace, interests, and preferred comfort level.
