Booking Information – Champions Peru Travel
“Your trusted Inca Trail & Machu Picchu adventure specialists”
At Champions Peru Travel, we prioritize a streamlined, transparent, and secure booking process, allowing you to focus on crafting your ideal trip to Peru. Our services include the reservation of the Classic Inca Trail, the Short Inca Trail, the Salkantay Trek, and private cultural tours. We handle every detail with care and professionalism.
1. How to Book Your Adventure
Booking with us is quick and personalized.
1.- Choose Your Experience – Browse our website or contact us directly for advice. Whether it’s the Classic Inca Trail 4 Days, the Short Inca Trail 2 Days, the Salkantay Trek, or a tailor-made private tour, we help you find the perfect itinerary.
2.-Check Availability: Certain treks, especially the Inca Trail, have limited permits released by the Peruvian government. These can sell out 6–8 months in advance, so booking early is essential.
3.-Provide Your Personal Details: To secure your space, we’ll need:
- Full name (exactly as on your passport)
- Passport number, nationality, and date of birth
- Preferred start date
4.-Confirm with a Deposit: Once we receive your deposit, we immediately purchase your trek permits, train tickets, and other reservations so your spot is guaranteed.
2. Payment Methods
We provide secure, flexible payment options for travelers worldwide:
- PayPal: Fast, reliable, and safe for international bookings (small processing fee may apply).
- Credit/Debit Card: Payments processed securely online.
- Bank Transfer: Available for larger group bookings (bank fees may apply).
The remaining balance can be paid before arriving in Cusco, or no later than 48 hours before your tour begins. For multi-day treks, we also accept cash payments (USD or Peruvian Soles) at our Cusco office.
3. Deposits, Permits & Non-Refundable Items
The Peruvian government is responsible for regulating permits for the Inca Trail and certain tourist trains. Once purchased:
- Please note that permits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Once a purchase is made, the name or date cannot be changed.
- Deposits also cover train tickets, entrance fees, and operational costs, which are non-refundable.
Due to these stringent regulations, we recommend booking only when you are certain of your travel dates.
4. We strongly recommend considering travel insurance.
Adventure travel in the Andes presents a unique set of challenges, including high altitudes and variable weather conditions. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that includes:
- Trip cancellation and interruption coverage
- Medical expenses and emergency evacuation
- Lost luggage and travel delays
- Trekking at high altitudes (over 4,000 m / 13,000 ft)
This additional measure is designed to provide travelers with the peace of mind that they are covered for any unexpected circumstances.
5. Passport Validity & Updates
It is essential that your passport be valid for a minimum of six months beyond your intended travel dates. If you renew or change your passport after booking, please notify us immediately so we can update your permits. Failing to do so may result in being denied entry to Machu Picchu.
6. Special Requests & Custom Tours
We believe in personalized travel. Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or have other dietary needs, our chefs will create delicious meals to suit your preferences. We can also arrange:
- Private treks for couples, families, or groups
- Birthday or anniversary celebrations on the trail
- Photography and videography services for your trip
- Additional tours in Cusco, the Sacred Valley, or Lake Titicaca
Simply let us know at the time of booking so we can make all the arrangements.
7. The Importance of Early Booking
The Classic Inca Trail is the most popular trek in Peru, with reservations often selling out 6–8 months in advance. Even the Short Inca Trail tends to reach capacity during peak season, which extends from May to September. Early booking ensures the availability of your preferred dates and allows sufficient time for the necessary preparations.
8. Photo & Video Use
By joining a tour with Champions Peru Travel, you agree that we may use photos or videos taken during your trip for promotional purposes on our website, social media, and marketing materials. These images showcase the beauty of Peru and serve as a source of inspiration for future travelers. If you prefer not to appear in photos, please inform your guide at the start of your trip.
