The Founder: Ronaldo

Ronaldo's origins can be traced back to 1988, in a modest farming village nestled in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, where the imposing snow-capped peaks and meticulously terraced fields were a part of his daily surroundings. At the age of 18, he joined the esteemed ranks of Inca Trail porters, undertaking the responsibility of transporting substantial loads across challenging mountainous terrain. This experience provided him with a deeper understanding of the challenges and hidden beauty of trekking life, motivating him to enhance the conditions for both travelers and porters.

Ronaldo's dedication to making a positive impact is evident in his academic pursuits. He graduated with honors from the National University of Cusco, where he studied Tourism. He then spent over a decade as a licensed tour guide, leading groups on the Classic Inca Trail, Salkantay Trek, Lares Trek, and Rainbow Mountain for some of Peru's most respected operators.

In 2019, he established Champions Peru Travel with a clear mission: to deliver exceptional, small-group trekking experiences that combine top-tier service, cultural authenticity, and environmental respect. He continues to play an active role in operations, ensuring that every guest has a positive and memorable experience.
